fret/fingerboard levelling file (15cm) This custom-made file gives you a handle on your fret work! It works quickly to level frets or fingerboards, leaving a smooth finish. It's 1" (2.5 cm) wide with a comfortable hardwood handle. The 6" (15 cm) length is useful for general fret levelling use. This file is a double-cut file for ebony, rosewood and pearl inlays but is also suitable for fretwork. Despite its rough appearance, it leaves a smooth finish. It cuts smoother than most fret leveling files, they work quickly and they're great for dressing and beveling fret ends. It works on stainless frets too! Modern stainless-steel fretwire is known to be harder than the traditional nickel-silver blends, but our own shop experience indicates the wire does not cause premature wear of this file.
