Inspired by the new Pontiac cars from 1959, Shoreline Gold was introduced as a Fender custom colour option until late 1965. It was then replaced with Firemist Gold.
It looks much softer than a Gold Top and is closer to a champagne hue.
This finish is a single component acrylic paint. It allows to apply the colour in a very even way, giving a spectacular metallic appearance. Its important to finish the applied coat with a clear polyurethane or nitrocellulose finish over it, to protect the plating and add depth.
